Sean is a proactive leader who has been in the green industry for over 30 years, most as either a business owner or in Senior Management roles at some of the largest companies in the industry. He began his career working in a garden center during high school. During college he started studying computer science while still working at the garden center during summer breaks running a brick paving and retaining wall crew plus selling new landscape projects a few nights a week. This is when he realized the joy of being in the landscaping field and that it could be a rewarding career choice, so after years of writing programming codes and algorithms in the basement computer labs of college, he decided to switch his educational interest to Horticulture and Business Administration.
He has overseen branches of over $10 million and has consistently increased both top line revenue and operating profits by double digits throughout his career. He has managed many multiple service line operations that run profit centers in maintenance, bid-build, snow & ice control and high end design/build and has started up many new profit centers in former single service line companies. His skills merging solid, profitable sales strategies with efficient field operations were the key to turning around a region of struggling branches for a national maintenance company that led to increasing their operating profits by $500K in his first 6 months and putting them on target for a $1mil operating profit increase at the end of his first full fiscal year.
